MY NEW NOVEL SEVEN DAYS IS NOW AVAILABLE!

An unpayable debt.  A shrinking economy.  A nation divided.  What is the price needed to prevent civil war?  What if the United States can no longer pay that price?  Rick Savage finds himself in the middle of a power struggle that could spell the end of the United States.  His extensive research leads him to one grim prediction: civil society will all but cease in seven days. He now has only a week to save who and whatever he can before the world descends into chaos.

HERE IS WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT IT:

“Nixon excels at establishing a near-future dystopian America, made believable partly by having present-day issues like the crumbling economy play a role in the plot.”
—Kirkus Reviews

"From the opening lines to its dramatic conclusion, Seven Days …presents a plausible scenario to depict an apocalyptic future that may turn out to be fact rather than fiction.”
John Taylor, author of Only in Berserkeley and two other novels

This action-packed thrill ride is extremely entertaining, but it will also give you a lot to think about…. This is an incredibly timely novel.…”
—Michael Snyder, publisher of The Economic Collapse Blog

i really liked this story. being somewhat hooked on dystopian fiction, im a sucker for a good story. 3 brothers with different life experiences, different points of view, one a ex-cia op, one a christian minister and one a pot head , all facing the collapse of society. the different approaches, thought processes of the characters and how they deal with the challenges are very well done. and interesting was the way how each brother affected the others point of iew and how they developed. fast paced, hard to put down sort of book, i did not want it to end. i really hope there is a sequel or two.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of the best post-apocalyptic novels I have readJuly 24, 2014
This review is from: SEVEN DAYS (Kindle Edition)
This book was unique, the characters were profound, and the situation was realistic.
This is one of the best post-apocalyptic novels I have read. It really took into account the human aspect. What is one willing to do to survive? What are you willing to give up to help someone else?
I was hesitant to buy this novel because of a few reviews. A few said there characters were shallow and they were not flawed. But I don't know what novel they were reading but it wasn't this one.
Rick, the supposed good guy, kills w/out hesitation or remorse, and does so in the name of necessity. He even at one point contemplates killing his own brother to ensure his survival. He lures his "friend" to their encampment not so he'll be safe, but because he brings with him a load of concealed weaponry in a truck. He stages a food lottery not so people will have more to eat but so he can identify individuals that he wants to live and others who he'll let die.
In short Rick is one of the most flawed and jacked up protagonist I have read about. But there is also a deeply moral and virtuous individual that manifests himself. He protects his brother and all those around him.
Isaac has his own flaws. He can't make the hard choices. His heart is too big for this survival situation and he constantly is taking in stray "pups" that they can't feed.
Rosemary, Isaacs wife, has her head stuck in the sand. She's a hard worker but is crippled by her inability to act.
These characters ate real an I could go on. Great story and a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must read this book!September 15, 2014
This review is from: Seven Days (Paperback)
Couldn't put the book down! Being a God-fearing man I often wonder what my duty would be in a situation like the characters in this book. Christ teaches to do good to those who hurt you and to turn the other cheek but when the "world ends" and civility as we know it deteriorates into killing for basic necessities what do I do? Do I "lay down my life" for my brother who is holding a gun to my head to get food for him and his children? Nixon does an excellent job portraying this complex dilemma. Two concepts that I really like are one: The fight between Good vs Evil has been going on since the beginning of time and God would be disappointed if I didn't join his fight (physical sense in that of taking out the 'bad guy') and two: from pg 209 "Humanity doesn't end when there are no humans; it ends when humans are inhumane." Love it! Thanks for the hours of thought provoking scenarios. Good job Nixon.

Pretty darn good. Quick read. Fast paced. Didn't catch a single grammatical error, but I may have been reading too quickly to catch any. Regardless, good solid story. I didn't feel like I got ripped off.

This review is from: SEVEN DAYS (Kindle Edition)
I really enjoyed reading the book. One of of the best things was, although the "expert" in warfare thought he knew everything and started off being closed to ideas from others, including he changed and started seeing that together they could be more creative to alternative solutions. Everyone learned, including Rick! I love the way faith was portrayed as well. Kudo's to a great book!

As usual in WTSHTF the hero is a big, big guy. I wonder if the writers are diminutive? Anyway it was well written, interesting tactics and a good ending. Occasional mentions of God and bible quote kind of fit the story. I'm not sure if the author is Christian, but he sure knows his bible. Read the book anyways.

Good story, good pace, enjoyed the characters, and the good vs evil aspect of the struggle. Liked Issac and I especially appreciated the solid, determined leadership of the brother with military training. The last few books read in this genre had the typical weak leader wondering if they did the right thing (pick a scenario). Nice to follow a character in a book who has the cajones to lead.

5.0 out of 5 stars Different but Better than Most Books of this GenreAugust 6, 2014
This review is from: SEVEN DAYS (Kindle Edition)
It started with not much background on how or why everything happens. But how and why isn't the point of the story. Once it gets moving along, the story is about a group of survivors who must decide to run and hide or stay and fight against the evil of men that has developed from the ashes of society. It's a survival story that has good character development and good character interaction. I really like this genre and have read a lot of these types of books. This one is different. It's more of a cross between Mad Max and The Colony. Very well edited compared to other Amazon books. Says it's book one of three. It had good ending where it wraps up the story, but left just enough open to have another story with different adventures. Can't wait for the next books.

Most Teotwawki books are written by survivalists, who may know about surviving, but who frequently do not excel at writing. This work is far superior to most; the plot is excellent (of course there has to be an existential threat of horrifying dimensions, and there is), the characters believable (with the exception of Chass, but the tensions in his soul make him believable too), and overall this work is far FAR better than any other I've read. Some people mentioned misspellings; I only counted 6-7 serious gaffes, and that is insufficient to detract from the enjoyment the book provides. FIVE stars!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced and hard to put downAugust 2, 2014
This review is from: SEVEN DAYS (Kindle Edition)
This was a great novel that had some surprisingly deep philosophical implications. The way that the executor takes power was pretty fascinating. Also, the way that people are sitting around, waiting for the government to bail them out seemed pretty true to life.

BRAVO! Fantastic read. I will look forward to when the second novel is to be released in this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic ReadAugust 2, 2014
This review is from: SEVEN DAYS (Kindle Edition)
Few books can manage to balance action/plot with character development. This novel manages to do both extremely well. There were great descriptions of how the society deteriorated and became an anarchy.

The novel was quick and hard to put down. The characters were flawed and extremely human. I found myself cheering for them in the end. There were a couple parts that gave me goosebumps as i read- which has never happened in a book that i read.

About the editing:
I noticed that a few of the past reviews mentioned grammatical mistakes, but they must have not been reading an updated version. I think there is a away you can update your kindle to get a new version. I only found two mistakes in the one I read, and they were very minor.

Great read! The action sequences were amazing, the characters were well done and flushed out, and the author took his time to tell a great story. I really enjoyed some of the characters and I found a good amount of humor in the book, something I did not expect from this type of novel.

Also, I noticed a few people mentioned editing mistakes. I did not find any. I think I have an updated version.

The rising conflict between the two sides was very well done--few books I've read have been able to build this type of tension. I literally had chills running down my spine at several parts in the novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seven Days, it takes courage to fight the fight! Great read! Recommend it!July 30, 2014
This review is from: SEVEN DAYS (Kindle Edition)
In a world filled with pain and suffering, some may find it easier to ignore the possibility of others striving to do good for the sake of it. Mankind is a work in progress, it has its moments of light and darkness. This book contains moments of this struggle that may be different for you and me. To fight the fight from the heart, that is the making of mankind on a journey towards developing a set of strengths focused on tending and befriending others. It's wonderful to get to know the author through his books. Looking forward to more books from this intelligent author, Sterling Nixon!

This one has quite the battle between camps after the disaster. It reminded me of the desert fights in Mad Max there is so much action. The cast runs all the way from a preacher to a former CIA agent who are brothers. I enjoyed this wild one and am rolling on to the other two in the series.

This is definitely a book I would recommend to my friends and family. And I just found another book called Sea Kings of Rome by Sterling Nixon that is next on my list.

5.0 out of 5 stars This novel was fantastic! I am really glad this is the first of three in the series.July 27, 2014
This review is from: SEVEN DAYS (Kindle Edition)
This novel was fantastic! I am really glad this is the first of three in the series.

The best thing about this novel was the in-depth and profound characters. Their perspectives were realistic and believable and I actually cared if they lived or died. Most apocalyptic fiction nowadays spends little to no time developing their characters and the plot points. This one did extremely well in that aspect. This part alone would have made this novel compelling, but there was a lot more to it.

I did read a few of the previous comments and they said that there were some typos. I think I was reading an updated version because I did not see a single one.

The action was compelling and unique. Some of the innovations that they came up with were mind blowing. And the last battle scene was epic. The incredible build up of the good and bad guys was very well done. I also enjoyed several of the speeches that Isaac delivered. I found them moving, something I did not think I would find in this type of book.

SPOILER...

Something I really liked were the way the Executor took power. There was a lot of thought into how he went about closing down the society, stealing all the resources, and then forming his final coalition. The phycology behind it was pretty interesting, and compelling. I would enjoy finding out where the author came up with his perspective.

The only thing I did not like about the novel was that I wish more time was spent on the Executor's rise to power. There were a few chapters from the Executor's perspective, but I wish there was more. I guess that would dramaticly lengthen the novel, and maybe make it dry.

Amazing! I was a bit put off at first when the character was named Rick. I kept picturing the lead character from the Walking Dead. But that image was quickly forgotten before I knew it. Very deep look into what is or what is not to come. I would recommend this to any reader.
